Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Your adventure begins in Nairobi, Kenya’s vibrant capital. Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you’re greeted by your safari guide and transferred to your comfortable hotel. Depending on arrival time, enjoy a short tour of the Giraffe Centre or relax and prepare for your safari. The evening includes a full briefing and dinner.

Day 2: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, set off on a scenic drive north through Kenya’s central highlands, passing tea and coffee plantations before descending into the drylands of Samburu. Arrive at your lodge near the Ewaso Nyiro River in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Keep your eyes open for the “Samburu Special Five”: Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, and gerenuk.

Day 3: Full Day Exploring Samburu

Today is dedicated to discovering the wild beauty of Samburu. Morning and afternoon game drives will take you across the rocky hills, riverine forests, and open plains. Between drives, enjoy downtime at the lodge, perhaps with a swim or a cool drink overlooking the river where elephants often come to bathe. Samburu’s less crowded environment offers intimate wildlife encounters.

Day 4: Samburu to Lake Nakuru National Park

Leave Samburu after breakfast and begin the journey southwest to Lake Nakuru National Park. En route, stop at the equator for photos and enjoy lunch in a town along the Rift Valley. Upon arrival, take a short game drive through the acacia forest and lakeside. Lake Nakuru is known for its resident rhinos and pink flamingos that line its alkaline shores.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara

After checking in and lunch at camp, head out for an afternoon game drive where you may witness lions stalking prey, elephants grazing, or even a cheetah sprint across the plains.

Day 6: Full Day in Masai Mara

Spend the day exploring the vast Masai Mara Reserve, famous for its density of big cats and abundance of wildlife. You’ll track wildebeest herds, encounter hyenas, buffalo, and maybe catch a glimpse of a leopard in a tree. The landscape is stunning, with golden grasslands and dramatic skies.

Day 7: Sunrise Safari and Maasai Village Visit

Return to camp for lunch and enjoy a final, relaxed afternoon soaking in the Mara’s atmosphere or join a short walking safari near the camp.
